Terms and Conditions

Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before continuing with your booking. Although these Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice Quito Bike Tours CIA. LTDA. will always aim to both keep this document up-to-date as well as communicate changes to our passengers.

1. Definitions

QBT means Quito Bike Tours.  ‘You’, ‘passenger’, customer’ or ‘client’ refers to the person in whose name the booking is made. ‘Force Majeure’ refers to any event outside of QBT’s control, including but not limited to war and natural disasters, which prevents QBT from undertaking the tour as planned.

2. Tours

To reserve a tour place via the website select the tour, click on the ‘Book Now’ button, and complete our online booking form. Once your registration and deposit have been received your tour booking will be confirmed via an email from Quito Bike Tours. If your booking cannot be confirmed due to unavailability, you will not be charged.

Your booking is not finalised until full payment has been processed and a confirmation receipt has been issued. Full payment is required before the tour.

Group sizes for tours are limited:  to a maximum seven (7) people with a minimum number of 3 on our regular tours. Private tours range from 2 people to 1 person per tours. 

Your booking will be confirmed via email.

3. Bike Rentals

The deposit payment is required as stated per our rental page. Payment of the deposit can be made via credit card or cash.
4.General
The website www.quitobiketours.com provides a range of information from FAQs through to detailed descriptions of our tours and what is included. Please read thoroughly before booking a tour/ renting a bike so that you are clear on what you need to do and what is expected.  They are guidelines but we have made them as clear as possible.

5. Liability

By registering for a tour or event, you agree that you accept all terms and conditions herein and that this is a directive for Quito Bike Tours to perform services on your behalf. All persons named in the booking are subject to this agreement, which implies acceptance of all terms by all persons named, and that as the facilitator you have made all persons aware of these terms. Quito Bike  Tours is not liable for personal injury, death, damage to property or other loss whether arising from accident, cancellations, delays or any other situation that may occur. Quito Bike Tours clients should insure against any and all such possibilities.
It is assumed that all customers are competent handlers of a multi-range gearing bicycle, assume the risks associated with the activity that they have booked and are physically capable of taking on the activity that they have registered for.
Quito Bike Tours will always intend to follow the itinerary as planned, however the itinerary can be subject to change if unforeseen circumstances arise, and/or which could include actions by third-party providers, or cancellation or change of cycling or other events that the tour party had planned to visit. In such circumstances, the tour will continue as planned with variations.

6. Travel Insurance

We expect that all guests have their own travel insurance, which should cover loss of  personal belongings, tour cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, medical, personal accident and liability cover.
If you choose to do the tour with no insurance you do so entirely at your own risk, and Quito Bike Tours will not be held responsible in any way and under absolutely no circumstances.

7. Health & Safety

An approved bicycle helmet, as provided by QBT, must be worn while cycling. Helmet use is essential to participate in any cycling activity. It is a condition and requirement of taking part in our tours that you ride in a safe and sensible manner and ride within your capabilities. We will assume that you are fit and healthy and with no previous health issues and that you are capable of engaging in the tour activity.

8. Documentation Requirements

In Ecuador you must, by law, always have an ID or a copy of your ID on you at all times.  Please also bring your ticket (digital or paper) of Quito Bike Tours to the tour as proof or purchase.

      Cancellations

• 100% refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before the starting time of your tour.
• NO REFUND for cancellations less than 48 hours before start of tour.
• In the case of rain: if it’s raining an hour before the tour, and you just don’t want to cycle and prefer to cancel you have the right to a full refund or reschedule.
• NOTE: All refunds will incur a transaction fee of 5% where you have decided to cancel. If it rains and you wish to cancel, QBT will incur the cost.

Quito Bike Tours will endeavour to run every tour, however we reserve the right to cancel a tour if minimum guest numbers for the tour are not met due to unforeseen circumstances, natural disasters including severe weather or other circumstances that amount to force majeure. In such circumstances, any payments received will be refunded if we are not able to offer you a suitable alternate tour. 

We will not be held responsible for any other costs or expenses that you may have incurred in relation to the tour, including airfares or other related expenses associated with the tour.

10. Code of Conduct

Passengers are expected to behave in an appropriate and respectful manner towards those around them, including, but not limited to, fellow passengers, guides and volunteers. It is correct and respectful to obey the laws and customs of Ecuador whilst you are in this country.
In the circumstance that the code of conduct is violated and the passenger is behaving disrespectfully, QBT reserves the right to remove that passenger from the tour. No refund or compensation will be given.

11. Privacy Policy

Any information you, the passenger, provide to us during registration, will be solely used for our booking and administration purposes. QBT will not share any of your information with any other third party. We may occasionally send information or updates on QBT and events or promotions that we may be running, and only to the email address you have provided. You can unsubscribe at any time.
